You Will Find Me
“’When you look for Me, you will find Me. When you wholeheartedly seek Me, I will let you find Me,’ declares the Lord…” Jeremiah 29:13-14 GW.
What did you feel when you read that? Was it love, care, and delight? Or was it maybe hurt, anger, and unbelief?
I can understand that some people may believe that God doesn’t care, or listen to them. I can just hear them crying out to God in their pain, wanting to know why this or that happened, but not necessarily hearing an answer. It hurts my heart to know some people feel unknown by God—when He is the One who knows them best. I know it hurts God’s Father heart for them, too.
Maybe that person is you. Maybe you feel that no matter what you do, or how often you cry out to Him, He just doesn’t notice you… I want to tell you right here and right now that if you feel that way, it’s a lie from the enemy. I know for a fact that God hears the cries of our heart.
There was a time that I was trapped in sin, and didn’t know how to get out.
I didn’t really ask God for help out; I had asked some friends, but THAT didn’t help. Nevertheless, God heard my desire to get out of the rut I was in, and He came running. Seriously. I was trapped one day, not knowing what to do, then literally the next day, I had so much freedom!
God wants to be found. That’s part of the reason why He gets you out of deep ruts. He wants you to lean on Him, get to know Him, and wants you to search for Him. I want to encourage you with this… God will let you see Him. If you really, I mean really, are seeking God, He will reveal Himself. He loves authenticity; you can be real with Him. I am real with Him all. The. Time. Some of the things I tell Him, only He will ever know, because it hurts me just to think about it. He’s not shocked by your thoughts, but He wants to help.
That’s why He promised that you shall find Him.
That was very encouraging. I definitely felt something while reading it.
