Today Is A New Day

          I have a friend who gave me a coaster recently.  It says;

Today is a new day!  You can start fresh, wipe the slate clean, begin again. Today you can embrace kindness, work for the common good, Practice compassion, stand up for justice, listen with your whole heart.

See Revelation 21:5

          She didn’t know what was going on in my life at the time.  When I read it, I started crying.  It was just what I needed.  Isn’t that a wonderful thing?  To be able to start over?  Aren’t you glad our God is a God of second chances??

          If God suddenly turned against me, I would honestly lose it!  God is so faithful to forgive me when I ask for His forgiveness.  In First John, it says that God is faithful and just to forgive!  Revelation 21 says that He is making all things new!  I can’t begin to express how much that means to me.

          I know that I was a wretched person; but that’s the key… I “was”!!  Because of Jesus’ sacrifice; I am holy and chosen, I am a priest, and I am a daughter of the Highest King!!  He has crowned me with victory, He has overcome the world for me!

          Today is a new day… Am I living in my new day?  Am I taking advantage of the freedom I have in Christ?  Am I spreading this wonderful freedom with those around me?  I hope so; and if I’m not, I pray that God will convict me, or have someone call me out on it.  The Holy Spirit gives me power, love, and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7).  He gives boldness.
